Radio Operator Job Description:
The Radio Operator will play a vital role in ensuring seamless communication across offshore and onshore sites. The position involves managing radio calls, facilitating emergency notifications, and providing essential weather updates to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Attend radio calls and relay messages to the appropriate personnel.
- Report weather conditions to offshore sites for real-time updates.
- Answer telephone calls after office hours to maintain ongoing communication.
- Follow emergency notification procedures for real-time reporting and damage control.
- Report the schedule of supply vessels to update concerned departments.
- Collect and forward weather updates from offshore sites to government authorities.
- Review and report international call bills for appropriate deductions.
- Monitor and report anomalies in radio handset operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Secondary school with 3-5 years of relevant experience, or High school with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Valid license for radio operations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of Arabic (speaking and understanding) is an added advantage.
