Job Description:
As an HSE Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and implementing measures to prevent accidents. You will develop and enforce safety policies, conduct training programs, and investigate incidents to improve workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all new employees and visitors undergo prescribed induction training according to procedures and impart refresher training to existing employees.
- Issue safety gear to employees and keep records of all safety items issued and delivered. Report and initiate requisition procedures when needed.
- Patrol daily to inspect various installations and locations such as pumps, diesel engines, hydrants, tanks, gas concentrations, etc., and ensure that operational levels are in accordance with company standards. Report findings to the safety engineer.
- Ensure serviceability of portable H2S & Hydrocarbon detectors, Multi Gas Detectors, and 4 Runner Gas Detectors. Maintain records of calibration and replenishment.
- Assist HSSE Engineer by participating in Job Safety Analysis / Task Risk Assessments and ensure critical activities are performed after completion of Task Risk Assessments. Report any deficiencies and take appropriate action as assigned.
- Maintain and ensure that proper HSSE and mandatory signs are available and visible at required locations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Perfect knowledge of all kinds of fire extinguishers – mobile and fixed.
- Experience working in H2S environments and familiarity with associated emergency response plans.
- Familiarity with the roles and responsibilities of a Safety Foreman from all aspects.
- Conversant with all life-saving equipment, especially offshore installations (e.g., life jackets, life rings).
- Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Knowledge of OH&S and other relevant safety regulations and standards.
