Storekeeper Job Description
As a Storekeeper, you will play a vital role in receiving, staging, and organizing merchandise for seamless operations within the facility. Your responsibilities will include inspecting deliveries, ensuring proper storage, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to food safety protocols. You will also be responsible for stock rotation and quality assurance, contributing to the overall efficiency and excellence of our service.
Storekeeper Responsibilities
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
- Receive and stage merchandise, marking it for proper placement.
- Deliver merchandise to the correct department and stack it appropriately.
- Complete requisition forms and notify the supervisor of low stock levels.
- Inspect and verify the freshness, quality, and consistency of delivered items.
- Refuse damaged or incorrect deliveries and maintain proper inventory records.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, keeping storage areas clean.
- Organize, clean, and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, and food equipment.
- Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and trash to designated areas.
- Follow company policies and maintain a professional appearance.
- Report accidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the manager.
Storekeeper Qualifications and Requirements
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- No prior work experience required.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
