Main Objective of the Role

The primary goal of the Flight Safety Specialist is to provide comprehensive oversight of flight safety issues, including incident investigations, post-incident assessments, hazard identification, Air Safety Reports (ASRs), and updating safety reports based on Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) reviews.

Flight Safety Key Responsibilities

Incident Investigation:

• Assist in investigating incidents and preparing investigation reports by conducting analysis and studies and providing necessary recommendations.

Air Safety Reports:

• Manage the processing of Air Safety Reports (ASRs), including requesting and following up on assessments from relevant departments.

Data Collection and Presentation:

• We conducted data collection on safety-related information in flight and cabin operations, collating data to prepare quarterly Safety Action Group meeting presentations.

Training:

• Deliver SMS awareness training to Flight Crew & Cabin Crew according to regulatory requirements and coordinate additional training on SMS in Flight & Cabin Operations.

Promotional Material:

• Prepare promotional material for Flight Safety, utilizing innovative media to increase engagement and awareness.

Safety Performance Indicators:

• Supported preparing air safety reports (ASRs) and safety performance indicators for submission to GCAA.

Post-Incident Assessments:

• Carry out post-incident assessments to verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventative measures.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:

• Identify hazards and risks related to Flight activities and procedures, providing necessary recommendations.

Safety Reports Updates:

• Update safety reports with inputs derived from Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) reviews.

Performance Records Maintenance:

• Maintain performance records about Flight and Cabin safety, ensuring robust record-keeping methods.

Qualifications Required

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)

Languages:

• Fluent in English

Experience Required

Years with Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years

Professional Experience:

• Minimum five years in commercial airline operations or an equivalent position.
• General knowledge of international and local aviation regulations and safety management.

Systems Knowledge:

• Knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.

ISR Requirements

• Comply with the Company’s ISR policies.
