Job Description:
Long-term Teachers Ltd is currently seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant for a permanent placement in a new SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) school located just outside of Yeovil. The role will involve supporting students at both primary and secondary levels, helping to create a thriving learning environment. You will assist in lesson preparation, support student progress, and contribute to maintaining a positive atmosphere where students can reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with preparing and delivering lesson plans and activities.
- Support student assessments, mark assignments, and provide constructive feedback.
- Facilitate small group sessions and offer one-on-one support to students needing extra help.
- Participate in school meetings and professional development sessions.
- Ensure the classroom is a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Maintain records of student progress and behavior.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive atmosphere in the classroom.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience working with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Ability to work with both primary and secondary level students.
- Patient, dedicated, and adaptable to the individual needs of students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £17,000 – £17,386 per year
- Permanent, full-time role.
