Xiaomi at an official event introduced a series of flagship smartphones Xiaomi 12S. It includes basic Xiaomi 12S, advanced Xiaomi 12S Pro, and top-end Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
In appearance, Xiaomi 12S and 12S Pro are similar to each other, as well as to the Xiaomi 12 series. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra model differs from younger smartphones in a large camera unit on the back.
All three smartphones have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 8/12 GB, are equipped with AMOLED screens with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a 50 MP main camera, and run Android 12 with MIUI 13 skin.

The base Xiaomi 12S has a Sony IMX707 main sensor with OIS. The main camera of the Xiaomi 12S Pro is a 50MP Sony IMX707 sensor. The 50MP telephoto lens offers support for 2x optical zoom. There is also a 50 MP camera with a 115° field of view.
In the flagship 12S Ultra, the main camera is a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The other two cameras in the rear unit are 48 megapixels each. There is support for 120x digital zoom.
The cameras of all 12S models are customized by Leica, with which Xiaomi has an agreement. In addition, the Ultra model supports Dolby Vision HDR video recording in 4K and FullHD. The camera can also record 8K video.
The back of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a leather-look finish, and the case itself received protection against water and dust according to the IP68 standard. Not without Harman Kardon stereo speakers.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra also has Surge P1 and Surge G1 proprietary processors, which are responsible for charging control and monitoring the safety of the battery.
