Employee fired by SpaceX after writing a letter criticizing Musk

The New York Times reports that SpaceX fired some employees after writing a letter criticizing CEO Elan Musk.

The letter, which came out for the first time on Thursday, described Musk’s behavior on social media as “an uninterrupted source of distraction and frustration” and asked SpaceX to criticize the behavior.

According to an email from an anonymous staffer, SpaceX COO, and chairman Gwynne Shutwell, SpaceX fired the staff involved in the letter case but was not sure how many were fired.

“SpaceX has fired some of the staff involved in the letter case,” she wrote. We don’t need this kind of extremist activity because we have a lot of serious work to do. “

The open letter from the employee mentioned that Musk had recently been fined  250,000 for alleged sexual harassment.
