Job Description:

As a Cashier for Sun & Sand Sports, part of GMG’s retail division, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing cash transactions accurately, and supporting the store in achieving its sales targets. Your role will be integral in enhancing customer satisfaction by offering expert advice and ensuring a seamless shopping experience.

Responsibilities:

• Describe product features and benefits, demonstrating proper use and handling of products.
• Educate customers on brand quality standards and specifications.
• Advise customers on the product range best suited to their needs and answer queries to assist in purchasing decisions.
• Provide information on warranties, features, specifications, and maintenance of products.
• Resolve or escalate customer complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained at a high standard.
• Maintain awareness of new product launches, promotional events, and sales.
• Achieve sales targets through effective sales techniques, including up-selling and cross-selling.
• Ensure accuracy in promotions and pricing, following company standards and policies.
• Compute sale prices and discounts, maintaining accurate sales records.
• Process cash, change, and credit payments, generating invoices and receipts.
• Operate as a cashier with consistent accuracy in money handling.
• Adhere to after-sales processes, including repair/return policies and procedures.
• Follow loss prevention, inventory controls, and company standard operating procedures.
• Assist with store merchandising, including product placement and arrangement.
• Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and grooming in the store.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Proven experience in a retail environment, preferably in a cashier or customer service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of sales techniques and the ability to achieve sales targets.
• Understanding of inventory control and loss prevention.
• Proficiency in handling cash and processing payments.
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
