Job Description:
The job holder is part of the Global Markets & Treasury Business Finance team responsible for leading a team and providing a full range of MI & Business performance management support to the division. Specifically, the following is expected:
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders including Global Markets & Treasury, Market/Credit Risk, Finance functions, IT, Audit, and Operations.
- Continuously enhance the control framework, ensuring compliance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal bank policies.
- Organize and further enhance product control activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly MI, and enhance commentaries with market drivers.
- Formulate and implement automation programs, leveraging existing IT solutions.
- Work closely with foreign locations to align service levels to HO standards and cross-train local finance functions.
- Support the FPA stream with detailed commentaries within BS and PL, forward projection estimation, and required analytics.
- Drive forecasting and budgeting cycles through engagement with the business.
- Build a pipeline of insightful MI to drive business decisions.
- Motivate and develop the team to enhance both technical and soft skills.
- Organize and maintain daily PL reporting process for ALM desks.
- Monthly Desk level MIS.
- Support with insights for periodic CEO business performance review packs.
- Drive forecasting and budgeting cycles with businesses in UAE and international locations.
- Provide FTP analytics and key drivers.
- Forecast ALM revenue.
- Maintain processes regarding financial control services including daily PL reconciliation to GL systems, monthly BS review, month-end adjustments, hedge documentation, and effectiveness measurement.
- Provide commentaries and analytics on Treasury B/S movements, market drivers, and business activities.
- Provide Business Requirement Documents for new system implementations and upgrades.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing for projects.
- Review and analyze key market and operational risks.
- Introduce new controls to enhance the control environment.
- Conduct automation projects to eliminate operational risk.
- Hold periodic deep-dive sessions with business focusing on performance assessment, new initiatives, and comprehensive analysis of activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Accounting qualification and a degree with specialization in Finance/Accounting.
- CFA and FRM certifications.
- 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in Business Finance, covering Markets and Treasury products.
- Deep understanding of Treasury products, their lifecycle, accounting treatment, risk management, and front-to-back interfaces.
- Experience in hedge accounting and IFRS 9 reporting.
- Proven experience in managing and organizing teams.
- Knowledge of Treasury products and relevant banking regulations.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market and financial dynamics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact at senior management levels.
