Dissolution of Parliament in Malaysia

 Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yacob has announced the dissolution of Parliament. Dissolving Parliament on Monday, he announced that mid-term elections would be held within 60 days.

In a televised address on behalf of the country, he also stated that he has taken permission from King Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah to dissolve the parliament and announce elections. He said that after the 2018 elections, various events developed in the country and it affected the economic and political situation, so the elections had to be held immediately.

‘We have decided to take the opinion of the people again. The opinion of the people is the most powerful,” Yacob said during his speech. Stating that political stability is necessary in the country, he said that the Election Commission will announce the date of the election in a few days on the recommendation of the government.
